EDMS Database Developer and Analysis Manager




Etica are looking for a Database developer to work for a Governement you will Participate as a member of an internal software development team in the building of an in-house integrated European Database Management System (EDMS) with specific responsibility for database design / development / programming, primarily focused on the Work Based Learning ESF Projects.


Key tasks:
1. Database programming using T-SQL - stored procedures, functions etc., often carrying out complex data manipulation

2. Creating databases, tables, indexes, views etc.

3. Ensuring Data Integrity

4. Performance and tuning of complex SQL Server databases

5. Data Analysis of complex large volumes of data

6. Report Production using T-SQL and / or SQL Server Reporting Services

7. Highlight data quality issues to software development manager and ESF project teams.

Competence areas and behaviours specific to the Post:

Customer Service
1. Balances conflicting or competing customer requirements and negotiates with customers and work colleagues to resolve.

2. Sets up systems to review progress of work and monitors work performance with customers

Analysis and use of evidence
Manages information created or captured using IT tools in line with statutory and organisational requirements ( e.g. Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act)

Applying Expertise
Considers the potential and the impact of technology to improve work processes and improve efficiency



Job Specific Criteria:
Criteria 1:*
Ability to demonstrate recent experience in complex data analysis

Criteria 2:*
Ability to demonstrate recent experience in designing / developing highly complex database solutions in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.


Criteria 3:*
Ability to identify irregularities and discrepancies in data.
