Vacancy Description:

Etica are looking for a Support Analyst to join an established company who specialise in streamlining business processes. As a Support Analyst you will be responsible for assisting in the support of a database retention product. Successful candidates will possess a technical background which will allow them to develop into this challenging and rewarding role. As the Support Analyst you will work with high profile multinational organisations, supporting their implementations globally.

Skills/Abilities

Essential Experience:
- Linux/Unix OS
- Windows Server
- Configuring operating systems and environments
- Working with client/server applications or solutions

Desirable Experience:
- Scripting language (Bash, KSH, Java)
- Database Systems (Oracle, Sybase ASE/IQ, SQL Server, DB2)
- Data warehouses or Data analysis systems (Hyperion, Business Objects, Cognos, Microstrategy)

Work Experience:
Successful candidates for the Support Analyst role will have 1 year or more years experience in one of the following areas:

- Working in a role supporting either internal or external customers
- Working in a technical role in a Linux/Unix environment
- Working with scripting/programming languages
- Working with data storage/analysis systems e.g. database, data warehouse

As Support Analyst you will be responsible for the following:
- Communicating with customers directly, resolving any issues found with products
- Assisting in administration and implementation of the support ticketing system; to manage customer support tickets
- Recreating and testing customer scenarios and working with the engineering team to reproduce issues
- Liaising with customers on availability of patches and updates to issues
- Producing user facing documentation and knowledge base articles to aid in the support of the system
- Contributing to discussions on product design and to identify potential problems in proposed solutions before they are implemented
- To work closely alongside developers in the design of solutions and communicating effectively on the recreation and investigation of issues
