Vacancy Description:
Etica is now looking for a Oracle DBA to join a growing leisure organisation where you will lead and drive high levels of performance in the design, development and implementation of all changes to the MI & Yield related databases in the company.
We are looking for someone who is 75% Oracle DBA and 25% development.
You will need to be able to deal and communicate with people at all levels on the phone and face to face as you will be speaking to stakeholders, management and also offshore teams.
MUST HAVES for this position:
" Data warehouse experience
" Tuning Experience
" Oracle 10g + plus experience
" Be able/have the ability to Code
" Comprehensive & proven skills and experience of working in complex Technology environments with relevant experience in the MI & Yield applications technology and database
" Expert knowledge of the MI & Yield related applications, database & IT architecture
" Extensive development experience, including detailed design skills
" Proven skills and experience of estimating, planning, development methods & life cycles
" Ability to communicate clearly
" Offshore and 3rd party development experience
Desirable skills:
" SQL
" Shell/Perl Scripting
Responsibilities will be to:
" Create suitable design documentation and / or data models for others (including 3rd party offshore suppliers) to work from.
" Identify technical problems with existing systems and propose preferred solutions, dealing with the root cause rather than simply fixing the symptoms.
" Develop (code) complex parts of the MI & Yield application; create reference implementations/frameworks.
